Yesterday evening we got the last train at 2:15 am. We arrived in the Hostel at around 2:30 am. The night was ok. I guess a fell in sleep at around 3:30 am and slept until 8 am. Four and a half hours of sleep. Not long but actually I am not tired. I guess I dreamed something about the Internet, because when I awoke this morning I understand the Internet. Of course I knew everything about the Internet before, but I wasn't able to get the whole thing, you know? I knew how every single part work, but the whole Internet was a giant fnord for me. Actually I can't remember my dream, but I guess I in my dreams I was able to clear my mind. Now I can imagine the Internet.

23rd Chaos Communication Congress

Tomorrow morning I flew to Berlin where the 23rd Chaos Communication Congress takes place. Now it's 8pm local time and I am sitting somewhere in the building on the ground. My ass hurts. It's very uncomfortable. Furthermore I am feeling a bit tired because I not yet drunk something including caffeine except the coffee in the morning.
But all in all the congress is damn good. It's my first CCC and I really enjoy the atmosphere. This dark rooms with thousands of notebook screens illuminating the room. The geeks and nerds sitting all around. And of course the lectures are very interesting.
The infrastructure is a bit unstable. The Wireless-LAN is very slow and the IP-streaming of the lectures doesn't work.
But I am happy with my own infrastructure. The VPN, which connects me secure to my home computer and from there to the internet works very well. The VPN allows me to close all connections to my notebook except the VPN-UDP-port. Very useful in an area where are a lot of hackers.
I guess this day will be a long day. The last lecture will end at one o'clock. Then it will take around half an hour to my hostel.
I hope I won't be too tired tomorrow.

Simulate a laFonera

When you hack your laFonera and disable the heartbeat/autoupdate function or install a new firmware, FON will notice that and maybe lock your account.
I wrote a little bash-script which simulate a laFonera. You can run this script on your normal PC and it checks once a day if there is a new firmware version. I guess this check is the heartbeat of the laFonera. Older versions of the FON Router also connect http://download.fon.com/heartbeat.php but so far I wasn't able to find out if laFonera connect this website, too.
To run the script you need two things. First the public key of the fon server. You can find it on every laFonera. Download it with:
scp root@192.168.10.1:/etc/dropbear/key .
Maybe you have to replace the IP of your laFonera. And, of course, you need ssh enabled on your laFonera.
Second you need the dropbear-ssh-client: dbclient In Debian the package is named dropbear. openssh seems not to work. Nobody knows why.

Before you run the script the first time, you have to edit three variables.
FONKEY=/home/futejia/fon-hack/key #the path to the fon-public-key you downloaded before

You can find out this mac adresses while running ifconfig on your laFonera. eth0 is the WLAN mac-adress and ath0 is the WAN mac-adress. You can also find the WLAN mac-adress on the backside of the laFonera case.

Now you are ready to run the script. Please report any errors and give feedback. I hope the script is helpfull.

And please: If anybody outhere knows if the laFonere do more heartbeats than downloading the firmware, please leave a comment.

My way to hack lafonera

I spend the last hours the get ssh-access on my lafonera. Now I want to write a little howto.

Open the case of the router. This is not really necessary but it makes it easier and you can have a view on this beautifully circuit board. Remove the two black nipples on the bottom of the case. (The both on the other side of the antenna.) Under the nipple are bolts. Screw them out. Now you can remove the white part of the case.

Enable the power supply.
Now you need a computer with WLAN. On Linux run
wpa_passphrase MyPlace serialnumber > /etc/wpa_supplicant/fonera.conf
Replace serialnumber with the serial number of your lafonera. You can find it on the backside of the green circuit board or on the backside of the grey case.
Start the wlan with
wpa_supplicant -Dwext -ieth1 -c/etc/wpa_supplicant/fonera.conf
Maybe you have to replace eth1 with the device of your WLAN.
Get an IP with
dhclient eth1
and try to contact the fonera with
ping 192.168.10.1

The hack, described in this howto, is only tested with firmware version 0.7.1r1 and 0.7.0r4 Check on http://192.168.10.1 which firmware version runs on your lafonera. If the firmware is newer than 0.7.1r1 you have to reset the lafonera. Wait until both led's on the circuit board are lighting. (If only one is lighting, wait a few seconds) Now press the reset button on the backside of the circuit board. Press it until the one led stop blinking. It could take around one minute.
Restart your wlan and check the web-frontend if the firmware version is now 0.7.0r4 or 0.7.1r1

Now you need a little webshell. Copy the html code, you found here: http://futejia.fu.funpic.de/webshell.htm and safe it as webshell.htm or something else. (There are other versions of this webshell, but there are more complicated or didn't work.)
With this little shell you can execude commands. First you need to open the ssh port. Run this command:
/usr/sbin/iptables -I INPUT 1 -p tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT
After you have to start the ssh daemon. Run this command:
/etc/init.d/dropbear
The run of a command was succesfull when the webfrontend reports no error.

Last step is to connect the lafonera over ssh. Use
ssh root@192.168.10.1
1)to connect to lafonera. The password is admin.
Now have fun with your lafonera. To automatically enable ssh after a restart. Run this on your ssh console:
mv /etc/init.d/dropbear /etc/init.d/S50dropbear
Then you have to edit the file /etc/firewall.user
Uncomment the two lines
# iptables -t nat -A prerouting_rule -i $WAN -p tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT
# iptables -A input_rule -i $WAN -p tcp --dport 22 -j ACCEPT
Uncomment means remove the # (In vi you can use x to remove one character. Then press ESC :wq to safe and quite)

Laziness

I am fucking lazy this days. There is so much to day, but I am too lazy to do it. I have to write a letter to a chinese friend. I have to finish my registration for my exchange to China. I have to request my passport and a lot of other stuff. Furthermore there are so much things I want to blog about: Debian Etch running on my IBM Thinkpad T60, the 23rd Chaos Communication Congress and a OpenVPN wich secures my WLAN.
Maybe I am going to start with the blog entries...
And tomorrow I will go to the photographer and take a picture of me for the passport.
Damn it! Laziness sucks.

Casio Exilim S770

On Saturday I got my digicam. I ordered on November, 30th at Amazon and on December, 2nd it was there. (Thanks amazon for being so fast.) The Casio Exilim S770 is my first digicam. Before I always owned an analog camera. After two days of using my opinion is divided. On the one hand the digicam is very small, so I am able to take the camera with me wherever I go, but on the other hand the pictures are very bad. Compared to my analog SLR the photosensitivity of the digicam is very low which means I always have to use the flash and the quality of the pictures and videos becomes bad when I take pictures inside or in the evening.
But all in all I am happy with my new digicam. The camera is good enough for a quick picture you shoot by the way. And this is actually what I wanted. The SanDisk Extreme III SD-card with 2 GB space, I ordered too, is very fast. And there was a nice little docking station included which charges the camera and connects it with the computer.

Twenty Four Season Five

I finished downloading the fifth season of Twenty Four and I already watched the first five episodes. Until now I can say that the fifth season is much better than the fourth. The fourth was divided into single parts. All six episodes a new case started. It seemed that the authors were out of ideas.
But the fifth season is full of new and fresh ideas. The story developed slowly and it seems that it's one single case. Now I am looking forward to see the rest of the season. I have to finished it until January because in January the 14th the sixth season will start in the USA.

Passport

I'll do an exchange to China in April 2007. To travel to China I need an passport, but until now I don't have a passport. Since November 2005 the passport you get in Germany (and in other countries too) included a so-called RFID chip, which means you don't need to show your passport because you can read the passport contactless via radio. The big problem is, that not only the border officer could read your personal data. Everybody in a distance of a few meters is able to read your passport and you not even know about it. That means that everybody know who you are, every time you carry your passport with you. For example if you go to a sex shop everybody knows who you are, where you live and so on. And that's not all. If there are enough RFID-reader everybody can find out, where you are.
I think it's clear that I don't want such a passport. I heard about that your passport is valid too, if the RFID chip doesn't work. So you can destroy the RFID chip for example while putting the passport into a microwave for a short time. But I don't know how the border officers in China react when my passport don't work. China is a communistic country and I afraid of that they send me to prison or something else. I haven't a problem with European border officers, because I know about the law, but in China it's different.

Today I found the diary of Bastian Bosse on a website. Without any comment a want to quote a part of his last entry. He wrote all his last entries in English. So it's the original text.

This is the last evening I will ever see. I should be happy about all this, but somehow I'm not. It's my family... They are all good people, and I will hurt them tomorrow. It's sad, to know I won't see them again after tomorrow morning. To this I love: I'm very sorry about all this.

A friend who live in the USA translated Bastian Bosse's suicide note. Thank you for that.
In some parts it's not an exact translation, so if you understand German please read the original suicide note.
If you know for sure that you can not feel happy in your life anymore and the reasons amass from day to day, you do not have another choice than to escape from this life. This is the choice I made. There are certainly people that would have carried on, that would have thought ‘’It is going to be alright soon.’’, but it is not.
I was told I have to go to school to learn for my life, to have a convenient life, but what to have the most expensive car for, what to have the greatest mansion for, what to have the most beautiful woman for, if eventually everything is useless because your woman begins to hate you, your car needs gas that you can not afford, and there is nobody who will ever visit you at your fucking house.
The only thing I intensely learned at school was that I am a loser. I concede I was a loser during the first years at my high school, I had a propensity of consume, I wanted to get friends, friends that do not consider you as a person, but rather as a status symbol. Finally I woke up! I recognized the world as I imagined does not exist at all, it was an illusion, mainly created by the media. I recognized what kind of world I am living in, a world ruled by money, even at school. You have to have the newest cell phone, you have to have the newest brand clothing, you have to have the right ‘’friends’’. If you do not possess, you are not worth to receive attention. Those people are called ‘’Jocks’’, a Jock is everybody who thinks to be better than others because of more expensive clothing and a more beautiful girlfriend. I abominate these people, no, I abominate people in general.
During the 18 years of my life I learned that you can only feel happy in your life if you go along and adapt to the society, but I could not and I did not want to. I am free! Nobody has the right to take hand into my life and they have to be responsible if they do so. No politician has the right to pass a law that bars me from something, no cop has the right to take away my weapon when he is carrying his own on his belt.
What is it all for? What should I work for? In order to break myself, to retire when I am 65 years old and to pass away five years later? Why should I try to achieve something, it is useless and I have to die anyway. I can build a house, I can have children and I can do whatsoever, but what for? My house will be demolished sometime and my children will die sometime. What is the meaning of life? Life has no meaning. You have to give your life a meaning and I will not do that by sucking up to an overpaid boss and I will not listen to fascists that try to tell me we are living in a democracy.
No, there is one way left to give my life a meaning and I will not waste it like I did before. My life might have been completely different, but there is no acceptance for individualists in our society, for people who think their own way and not ‘’I am wearing a blank-bracelet and I am alternative!’’-idiots.
You began this battle, not me. My actions are the result of your world, a world that does not let me be how I want to be. You made fun of me, now I am making fun of you, but my kind of humor is different.

I thought it over and I am aware of the fact that the most students who humbled and put me down already graduated and left the school. I want to say two things concerning this.
1. I was not just part of one class, I was part of the whole high school. The students at the school are not innocent by no means, nobody is innocent. The same software is running in their heads and I am the virus that is willing to destroy them, no matter what or who.
2. I will particularly take revenge on the teachers because that are the people who took hand into my life against my will and who took me as far as I am right now, on the battlefield.

The life as it continues from day to day is the most pathetic thing in this world. S.E.W.P.D. - school, education, work, pension, death. The life of a normal person, but what is actually ‘’normal’’?
‘’Normal’’ is what the society considers as normal. Therefore Punks, beggars, murderers, Goths, homosexuals are considered as abnormal because they can not adapt to what the society considers as normal, or rather because they simply do not want to. I give a shit on you! Everybody is free! Give a weapon to everybody and everybody solves their problems by themselves. If somebody dies, they are dead. So what? Death is a part of life. If the relatives can not deal with it they can commit suicide, nobody will keep them.
S.E.W.P.D. begins at the age of six here in Germany when you begin attending school. This is the beginning of the personal path of socialisation and during the following years you will be forced to adapt to the society. You can not reject it, if you do so teachers, parents and the police will intervene. Compulsory school attendance is what they call the force to go to school, you are forced to go to school. You lose your freedom if you are forced to do something. You are forced to pay taxes, you are forced to follow the speed limits, you are forced to do this, you are forced to do that. Consequently: No freedom! This is what they call democracy. It would be called anarchy if the people ruled.

Not enough open wlan's

A few years or month ago you could go to the city, taking your notebook with you, and it was guaranteed that you find an open wlan-access not far away. So you could sit in a restaurant in a foreign city and surfing the internet for free. Many geeks did this. No one wanted to be evil. Just checking email or something else. But then something happened. The computer press started to warn all the noobs out there. They showed every stupid guy how to protect his wlan. The manufacturers of wlan-router found possibilities which made it very easy for every noob to protect his network with WPA. As the result it became very hard for a geek to find an open wlan-access. In a foreign city you have to search for a long time until you find a wlan which is not protected by WEP or WPA. Why did they do that? Maybe the press works together with Telecom, FON and other provider to promote their non-free wlan-access.
In some ways it's better to keep the folk stupid. I want my free and non-protected wlan-access in every city. I promise that I only use your wlan for surfing the internet and reading email, nothing else. And I believe that many other geeks would do the same.

downloading

Usually I use public FTP-servers for downloading movies, TV series or music. It's very comfortable because I always download with fullspeed and I am able to download a 600MB movie in less than one hour. But I can't find the fifth season of Twenty Four on such a server and nobody wanted to upload it. So I decided to use to use Torrent. I searched The Pirate Bay and found one torrent file included the whole season.
But torrent is fucking slow. I am now downloading for more than 110 hours and I not even downloaded the half. (49 per cent) It's the first time my computer runs for 24 hours a day. Before I mostly shutdown my computer for the night. I now asking myself if the electricity is more expensive than buying the season on DVD. Actually not, but it's a crazy feeling to run the computer for five days non-stop. And I think it will become ten days until I finished downloading.

Bastian Bosse aka ResistantX

I don't know how much you know about Bastian Bosse. I am not sure how much was in the press outside Germany. So I am going to tell you a bit about him. On November the 20th Bestian Bosse, a 18-year-old boy from Germany ran amok in his old school in Emsdetten (Northrhine Westfalia). He shot around, hurt 12 persons and in the end he killed himself.
This seems not very important, but the way the politicians and the press deal with it, is important. Nobody is interested in Bastian as a person. The politicians talk about Bastian as an evil killer who played the whole time bad computer games such as Counterstrike and Doom. That isn't true. Of course what he did was wrong but actually Bastian was a very poor guy. In his suicide note he tell us the true reasons why he ran amok. If you understand German I ask you to read his suicide note. It's very important to understand this guy. He was bullied his whole school life and was very unhappy with the German society. In his letter he said a lot of things I fully agree with. Among other things he wrote:

Weil ich weiss das die Fascholizei meine Videos, Schulhefte, Tagebücher, einfach alles, nicht veröffentlichen will, habe ich das selbst in die Hand genommen.
in english something like: I know that the fascists/police (in German it's a mix of both words) is not going to publish my videos, my excercise-books, my diarys and everything. I have done it on my own.

He published a lot about himself on the internet. But after his amok run the German police in cooperation with the German politicans tried to remove all videos and writings, even his suicide note, from the Internet. Why did they removed all this things? Because without his suicde note it's easier to tell the Germans a lie. A lie that makes computer games guilty. A lie to detract us from Bastians real reasons to run amok. It's easier for them to forbid computer games than thinking about his animadversion on the society.

Looking for a webhoster

I decided to use blogger.com for hosting my blog because I hoped that I am anonymous being there. But actually I'm not very happy with blogger.com. It's too slow and I don't like the design. I want a wordpress which I can completly controle. Where I can use my own plugins, my own design and so on.
Now I think about using a webhoster in the United Staates. For round 60 USD a year I get 5GB space, 250GB of bandwidth and one domain without whois-entry on ipower inc. This sounds very big and cheap. But I don't know about the quality. Is it fast enough? Is it stable enough? Can I trust this provider? I don't know.
Has anybody experiences with this webhoster?

Why english?

Some guys asked me why I write this blog in English. First of all, after six years learing English, I realized that the English language will be very important for my futur life. Today my English is very poor and I really need to improve it. Furthermore I realized that movies and TV series in the orignial (english) version are much better. Hearing the real actor speaking is... I don't know how to describe... greater, because the actor is able to match exactly the role he plays.
You see, in the moment I am on an english-trip. (I even start to read an english book.) On this reason I write this blog in english. If this reason sounds too strange for you take this: An english blog could be read by more people than a blog written in my native languge.

Cool Devices

A school mate gave me a CD included the whole season of Cool Devices. If someone don't know what Cool Devices is: It's an Japanese hentai serie, which means an anime porn. Of course itsn't the kind of porn you use to masturbate, but it's really intersting. Cool Devices is nice drawn and you can show things you can't show in a real porn. I think this kind of porn is part of the Japanese culture and I every guy who like anime should watch Cool Devices.
But I have one problem. The whole season is on one CD and it use a very early version of DivX. I think you can imagine how worse it is. Until now I didn't find a better version. So if anybody know a source for downloading it, please let me know.

Nearly every blog starts with an entry about the person who write the blog. That's not what I want to do. Instead I want to tell something about the reasons I started this blog. Until the last day I had an other blog, where I published all my entries under my real name. Furthermore I hosted that blog on my own webspace. And this was a big problem, because everybody who wanted to find out something about me just have to type my name into Google and seconds later he has a complet overview about my political views, my hobbies, my way to life and so on.
I think nobody want his parents, his teachers or his employers let know when he was drunken, or what kind of porn he like.
So I decided to start an anonymous blog. That gives me the chance to be honest. I need no longer think about how my parents or my teacher could react if they read my blog. To be anonymous makes a lot of things easier, for example I am now able to write: 'I downloaded this movie with torrent' before I always have to write something like: 'I was in cinema today'. You know what I mean?
